Northern Ireland Community Addiction Service (NICAS) has been working since 1978 to provide support and treatment to people affected by alcohol or drug addiction. We provide tailor-made treatment programmes for people with drug or alcohol problems, delivered in community settings. We also give confidential support for people affected by someone else's drinking or drug use.

Our helpline supports people who take benzodiazepines and Z drugs, either on prescription or in combination with illicit substances/problem drinking. We provide information and support people in reducation and stopping of these drugs.

We offer a range of therapeutic services inlcuding; assessment, individual counselling/therapy; family therapy, group therapies, medication, consultation.
Children and adolescents are usually seen at least initially with their parents/carers but older adolescents may be offered individual appointments.
We do not provide a service for children with a severe learning disability as this may be accessed through the local learning disability team.

We are a statutory, multi-disciplinery day centre which offers a range of services to children, families and individuals needing day care for dementia/mental illness. We have a strong family support team offering therapeutic, individual work, assessments and day care.
